The first step of the acceptance review of the pitch oscillation system and the wake rake traversing system, developed and built within the TWING / F project, was successful. Review was held at manufacturer premises (NHOE) on Oct. 8, 2020.

The pitch oscillation system will allow 2D models installed in IWT secondary test section to be rotated at different angles of attack for both static and dynamic tests. In particular, 2D models will be rotated with sinusoidal or ramp laws of motion at angular speeds up to 190 degrees per second.

The wake rake traversing system will be used to move a series of pressure probes along the height of the test section in order to follow the wake that develops from the 2D models when they are rotated.

Both systems will be delivered to CIRA in the coming weeks to be installed in IWT.
